Infertility studiesEvery treatment starts with a good diagnosis done by your FiVER specialists. For this, it will be necessary to perform specific studies.The goal of the infertility studies is to provide the FiVER specialist with the necessary information for a correct fertility diagnosis. It is very important that these studies are done to both members of the couple, focusing not only on the female partner. If you are having your menstrual cycle, it’s okay to assist to the appointment and perform the studies as, in many cases, it is indicated in order to reduce the diagnosis duration and beginning of the treatment.The basic infertility studies are:For women:Hormonal study: performed during the first days of the cycle, when the folicules grow.Hysterosalpingography (fallopian tube examination):It is a study that measures the tubes permeability (of the fallopian tubes and uterus). This study is very important and will mostly determine the complexity of the needed treatment.This relatively simple and quick study is done with X rays equipment and a contrast media that will go through the Fallopian tubes. Through the image obtained (radiography), the specialist will determine the tubes permeability.For men:Hormonal study: blood analysis that measures the hormones levels. Sperm study / Spermiogram:This is the main study for men, must be done in an specialized center with the proper equipment that will measure the behavior and quality of sperm.After having the seminal sample, for which we need to book a previous appointment, the sample will be processed and studied in the assisted reproduction lab to obtain the results some hours later.If the sample will not be taken in a specialized center, it will be necessary to receive proper indications from the specialized team of the reproduction lab, about the sample recolection and transportation.For the couple (when necessary):Stress levels measurement:Through this study, other infertility causes – non medical related – are analyzed.It consists of and interview and application of simple tests to both members of the couple before starting the treatment. If you haven’t done any test in the past, we recommend to the male partner to have from 3 to 5 days of sexual abstinence. You can have breakfast before arriving to your appointment. I will only be necessary for the patients having the tests on the same day to arrive with an empty stomach. Our staff will give you all the information if this is your case. Your first appointment will be a medical valoration with one of our infertility specialists as well as a stress and anxiety valoration with our patient support team. When you arrive to FiVER, our team will give you our data protection notice and will open a file with your data before seeing our specialist. Appointment: our specialist will listen closely to your case and will create a trust relation with you.
