Can I improve the quality of my eggs?

So, the diet is important when we want to improve the quality of our eggs, focusing on some foods.

We should consider that, women are born with a fixed egg reserve. It will not change during our life. When we start our period, during our cycles, this reserve starts to get spent, maturing the ovocytes into fertile eggs.

This is done thanks to a gland called hypophisis that generate a hormone, the follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) that, as its name says, stimulated the follicules (ovocytes) to mature in to eggs.

This is why, the function of our hypophysis is key and we can improve it most of all with the supply of vitamin E (tocopherol), vitamin that can be found in nuts, almonds, peanuts, avocado, cooked spinach, green olives and olive oil.

Besides the hypophysis, the external membrane of the ovocytes is also very important. This membrane receives the message from the gland and will define the quality of the eggs. As a membrane, it can get better with foods that are also good for our skin such as carotenoids and essential fat acids such as carrots, melon, pinapple and the previously mentioned. 

Also, we need to play close attentio to our environment, as, we should avoid nocive substances that can be in our homes such as in the cleaning products, in the femenin hygiene, cosmetics, etc.

For all the mentioned reasons, having a healthy life can improve our possibilities of having a good quality of eggs and then succeed in our desired pregnancy. Avoid alcohol, tabacco, pollution, exercise regularly and have a healthy diet.
