It can be devastating to know that we have problems to conceive a child. This information can make us have challenging psychological reactions, lots of doubts and the need to get information about what to do to get pregnant.
An important step that we recommend to do is, go to an assisted reproduction center where a specialist will give us our personalized diagnosis and will inform us about the different fertility treatments that are available for our case (low or high complexity).
When going through these first steps, sometimes the couple will feel that their privacy is altered, as they are exposing an important and touchy part of their lives with people they don’t know.
Some couples that have already gone through previous treatments, can sometimes feel stressed, tired, and hopeless. In lots of cases, the sexual life is also at risk, as the fertility treatments need specific timings, as the woman needs to be stimulated for her eggs to grow in size and quality, causing tension.
The woman normally goes through some symptoms during the treatments, such as inflammation, sensitive breasts, emotional irritability. On the other side, men need to have 3 days of sexual abstinence in order to increase the sperm count, situation that, sometimes, can lead to longer abstinence. All these symptoms can create a sexual disfunction in the couple, forgetting about being free and spontaneous.
To improve and fight this situation, it is important to get special support from a psycologist preferably with infertility experience. This expert will support you during your treatment and will try to deactivate and unblock this condition in order to recover the usual and frequent sexual life.
